The world Rotaract Week celebration is an event celebrated yearly all over the world by Rotary International. This is solely in celebration and commemoration of the birth the youth wing of the world leading humanitarian organization, Rotary: Rotaract, on the 13th of March 1968.
The Rotaract Club Of Rac Gusau Metro, Zamfara State, Nigeria, District 9125 celebrated hers in a grand style by further emphasising the essence of the Club by making donations of anti malaria drugs, mosquito nets to mostly pregnant women and those with children, free malaria counseling and free malaria test to the people of Gidan Dan maizare community in Zamfara State, Nigeria.
While addressing and making the donations, the president of the Club, Rotaractor Sharif Bashir Niniola said “Today, we have chose to come to this community to swivel the reason for which this club came life, which is to serve humanity selflessly. In holding on to this precious belief, the Club under my leadership has joined the rest of the world in the operation malaria must go and by so doing, we have come to give mosquito nets, anti malaria drugs, conduct free test and counselli
The president further urged members of the community to ensure a safe and clean environment. In his words, ” I urge you to at all times ensure that your homes and environments are kept clean, do not liter or leave stagnant water around you. Because Malaria has killed so many future leaders and brought tears to many. It is our collective responsibility to ensure a safe and clean environment.
In his response and appreciation, Mal Mohammed, who represented the village head and supervised the donations said “Walahi today I am filled with joy as this is the first of its kind in our village. We thank the Rotaract Club for coming to make this gifts available. It is as if you know we truly needs mosquito nets and malaria drugs. I promise that we shall make good use of all this items given to us, and you people should always come to give us things as we really need them”.
